📰 Payam Mehr Yoga Journal
The First Official and Specialized Yoga Magazine in Iran
The Payam Mehr Yoga Journal was launched in the summer of 2000 (1379 SH) through the dedicated efforts of yoga enthusiasts. It was the first official and specialized yoga magazine in Iran, founded with the mission of promoting a correct, comprehensive, and principled understanding of yoga as a powerful system for well-being.
The motivation behind this publication was to correct widespread public misconceptions about yoga and to offer authentic, accessible knowledge at a time when reliable information was limited — and the need for such education was high.
🌟 Vision and Impact
For over a decade, the Payam Mehr Yoga Journal played a central role in the growth of the yoga movement in Iran. At the time of its first issue, only a handful of official yoga centers existed in the country, and public awareness of yoga was minimal.
Through consistent publishing efforts and in cooperation with the Iran Yoga Association, the journal helped generate national attention toward yoga and contributed to the development of a more informed and active yoga community.
Today, thanks in part to this foundational work, dozens of certified yoga teachers and centers are active across the country.
